The 300 steps
From Oia's castle, 286 stone steps zigzag down (15 min descent, 25 min back up). Donkeys still operate — ethically controversial, we suggest walking. Taxi-boats from Ammoudi back to Oia port for 5 €.
Seafood tavernas
Four classics on the harbor: Sunset Ammoudi, Katina, Dimitris, Sea Side BBQ. Whole fish 8-12 €/100 g, octopus 22-28 €, fava 9 €. Sunset tables book up — reserve a day ahead in August.
Cliff jumping (Agios Nikolaos)
10-min swim or 5 € taxi-boat to the small chapel islet. Jumps from 3, 5 and 8 m into deep clear water. Free, no facilities — check rocks before jumping.
