During these months, the ambient temperature frequently exceeds 32°C (90°F), and the UV index reaches 10+. Because Es Trenc lacks natural shade from trees—the dunes are protected and off-limits—visiting during the shoulder seasons is often more rewarding for those seeking a premium, tranquil experience.
Spring (April to June): This is the best period for photography and birdwatching. The nearby Salines des Trenc host migratory flamingos and stilts. Water temperatures rise from 17°C in May to 22°C in late June. The "chiringuitos" (beach bars) typically open in late April or early May. Parking is rarely full before 1:00 PM during this window.

Hidden Alternatives Near Es Trenc
If you find that the main beach is too crowded for your preference, the south coast offers several "secret" alternatives that share the same crystalline water but with fewer visitors.
Es Caragol: Located further east, this beach requires a 30-minute walk from the Cap de Ses Salines lighthouse. There are absolutely no services here, making it the ultimate escape for those seeking total solitude. It is a frequent stop for our yacht charters because the anchoring conditions are excellent.
Cala En Tugores: A tiny, horseshoe-shaped bay even further along the coast. It is rarely visited by tourists due to the 4km hike required to reach it. It offers a glimpse of what Mallorca looked like fifty years ago.
Es Carbó: A massive stretch of sand directly facing the island of Na Moltona. It is popular with local boat owners and offers a very similar aesthetic to Es Trenc but with a more "local" feel and significantly fewer day-trippers from Palma.
