Ibiza to Formentera Day Trip 2027: Ferry, Beaches & Tips

Formentera — Ibiza's smaller sister, 30 min by fast ferry, with the clearest turquoise water in the Mediterranean. The classic Ibiza day trip.

Ferry

From Ibiza Town to La Savina (Formentera port). Three companies: Trasmapi, Balearia, Aquabus. 30 min, every 30 min from 07:30 to 21:00. Return 38–55 € online, 65 € at the port. Book Trasmapi or Balearia in advance — Aquabus cheaper but slower.

Get around once there

Rent scooter at La Savina (25 €/day, requires car/bike licence) or e-bike (15 €/day). Bus 1 covers main beaches (3 €). Taxis scarce — book ahead.

Top beaches

Ses Illetes (north tip) — postcard turquoise sand bar, 4 € entry to natural park, beach club Juan y Andrea (lunch 100 €/pax). Migjorn (south, 5 km long) — wilder, free, bohemian chiringuitos like Blue Bar. Cala Saona (west) — best sunset.

Lunch options

Juan y Andrea (Ses Illetes) — fish on the sand, reserve 2 weeks ahead, 90–120 €/pax. Es Caló village — bullit de peix 35 €/pax, no reservation. Beso Beach (Ses Illetes) — fashion crowd, 80 €/pax.

Tips

Catch 09:00 ferry — arrive before crowds. Last ferry back 20:30 (high season 22:00). Skip car (parking nightmare). Bring snorkel — visibility 25 m.
