Skaros Rock hike
From Imerovigli's main path, a 20 min walk down (steep, sturdy shoes essential) leads to Skaros Rock — a massive volcanic outcrop with the ruins of a Venetian castle. At the tip stands the tiny white Theoskepasti chapel, perched on the cliff edge. Free, open access. Climb back is harder than the descent.
Caldera path
The pedestrian caldera path from Fira → Firostefani → Imerovigli → Oia (9 km, 3 h) passes through here — Imerovigli to Oia is the best 2 h stretch (caldera views all the way).
Sunset spots
The Skaros viewpoint at sunset is dramatic and free. For dinner with caldera view: Buddha-Bar Beach (Grace Hotel, mains 35-60 €), Aroma Avlis (Greek, 25-40 €).
Parking
Free street parking along the main road (limited). Bus from Fira every 30 min (1.80 €).
