The Liston — Corfu Town's iconic arcade, built 1807–1814 by the French (modelled on Paris's Rue de Rivoli) along the Spianada, the largest square in Greece. The social heart of the island for 200 years.

The Spianada

Greece's largest public square, divided by a road. North side: cricket pitch (legacy of British rule 1815–1864, matches Sat May–Sep, free). South side: bandstand and gardens with the Maitland Rotunda. The Old Fortress closes the east side over the moat.

Liston cafés

The arcade hosts 8 historic cafés — all overpriced, all worth one drink for the view. Cafe Liston since 1820, coffee 5 €. Aegli — best gelato (5 €/double). Eolo — cocktails 12 €, sunset spot. Sit outside; sit inside half-price.

Old Fortress

10 min walk across the moat. 6 € entry, open 8:00–19:30. Climb to the top for 360° view of Corfu Town, Vidos island and Albanian coast. Free Sunday entry off-season.

Volta — Corfiot evening promenade 19:00–21:00 on the Liston, the local tradition. Easter — pot-throwing on Holy Saturday from balconies, midnight resurrection. Cricket Saturday on the Spianada (free, May–Sep 14:00).
