Marina Grande Capri 2026: Port, Funicular & First Hours

Marina Grande — Capri's main port and arrival point. Every ferry from Naples, Sorrento, Positano docks here. Below the dramatic cliffs of Capri town (138 m above).

Funicular to Capri town

3-minute ride from port to Piazzetta (main square). 2.20 € one-way, every 15 min, 6:30–22:30. Buy ticket at port kiosk (separate queue from funicular itself). Alternative: bus 2 €/30 min, taxi 25 €, walk 30 min (steep).

Boat tours from the port

Around the island: 2h motorboat 25 €/pax, includes Blue Grotto stop (extra 18 € entry). Private gozzo: 350 €/half day for 6 people. Blue Grotto direct: 18 € + 2 € row boat. Best 11:00–13:00 (sun inside).

Ferries 2026

Sorrento: 12 €/45 min, every 30 min. Naples (Beverello): 25 €/50 min, every hour. Positano: 22 €/40 min, 4/day (Apr–Oct). Last ferry to Naples 19:30.

Restaurants at the port

Da Paolino (Marina Piccola side) — under lemon trees, 80 €/pax, book ahead. Lo Smeraldo — port-side fish, 55 €/pax. Bar Grotta Azzurra — quick pizza 12 €.

Tips

Cruise crowds arrive 10:00 (avoid funicular). Take 8:00 ferry or stay overnight. Pack light — Capri is steps and small alleys. Day-trip luggage storage at port 5 €.
