Pontikonisi (Mouse Island) — Corfu's most photographed image: a tiny pine-clad islet topped by a 12th-century Byzantine chapel, with the white Vlacherna Monastery on a smaller islet in front, both linked to the Kanoni peninsula 4 km south of Corfu Town.
The view from Kanoni
Free panoramic terrace at the end of Kanoni peninsula — both islets, Vlacherna's causeway, and the airport runway just behind (planes land 30 m above your head, jaw-dropping). Kanoni cafes charge 6–8 € for a coffee with the view.
Vlacherna Monastery
Walk the 200 m causeway from Kanoni (free). The whitewashed monastery (founded 17th-c, currently no resident nuns) is small but striking. Open daily 09:00–13:00 and 16:00–20:00, free entry, modest dress.
Boat to Pontikonisi
From Vlacherna's small dock, 5-min boats run to Pontikonisi (5 € return). The Byzantine chapel of Pantokrator opens only on 6 August (feast day) — rest of year just visit the island, pine trees and views.

How to reach Kanoni
Bus 2 from Corfu Town's San Rocco square (1.50 €, 15 min, every 20 min). Taxi 8 €. Walk: 45 min from the old town.
