Neptune's Grotto Alghero Sardinia 2027: Escala del Cabirol & Boat Tour
Neptune's Grotto (Grotta di Nettuno) at Capo Caccia is Sardinia's most famous sea cave — 200 m of chambers with stalactites, stalagmites and a saltwater lake, formed over 2 million years.
Two ways in
Escala del Cabirol (Catalan "deer steps"): 654 steps carved into the cliff from the top — 30-min descent, 45-min climb back, free. Closed in rough sea (waves block the entrance). Don't attempt with heart conditions or vertigo.
Boat from Alghero port: 1-hour trip with Navisarda or Linea Grotte, 17-22 € return + 14 € grotto entry. Daily 9:30-17:00 in summer.
Inside the grotto
Guided 45-min tour (mandatory). Halls include the Sala della Reggia (royal hall) with 200+ stalactites, the saltwater Lake Lamarmora and the organ pipes formation. Temperature 20°C year-round — light jacket recommended.

14 € adult, 7 € child. 9:00-19:00 April-October, 9:00-15:00 November-March. Last tour 1h before close.
