Paleokastritsa on Corfu's west coast is the island's most beautiful village — six emerald coves between dramatic cliffs, a hilltop monastery and Greece's most photographed sea-cave coastline.

The six coves

Agios Spiridon (main, sand, all services), Platakia, Alipa, Agia Triada, Ampelaki, Liapades — each different, all swimmable. Calm protected water, sunbeds 12-18 €/pair.

Monastery of Theotokos

Founded 1225 on the headland — free entry, modest dress required (wraps provided). Postcard sea view, small museum of icons. Open 7:00-13:00 and 15:00-20:00.

Boat caves tour

Small boats from Agios Spiridon harbour, 15-20 €/p, 1 h — visit Blue Eye, Nausica and Hippokampos caves with crystal water. Booking on the dock, no reservation.

Bella Vista viewpoint

5 km drive up to Lakones village — café terrace with the iconic aerial view of Paleokastritsa's coves. Free, coffee 4 €.

Eat

Limani (seafood, 18-32 €), Vrachos (Greek tavern, 14-25 €), Astakos (lobster pasta, 35-55 €).
