Poetto — Cagliari's 8 km city beach, the longest urban beach in Italy. White sand, calm shallow water, 20 numbered kiosks ("fermate") and the dramatic Sella del Diavolo (Devil's Saddle) cliff at the west end.

Best zones

Numbered by bus stops 1–11. Stops 1–4 (west, near Sella del Diavolo): cleanest water, lively, beach clubs. Stops 5–8: family, free zones, kiosks. Stops 9–11 (Quartu Sant'Elena): quieter, locals.

Beach clubs & kiosks

Lido Poetto (stop 2) — historic, sunbed pair 25 €, restaurant 40 €/pax. Marina Piccola (stop 1) — gourmet seafood under the cliff, 60 €/pax. Emerson (stop 4) — cocktail bar, sunset DJ. Each "fermata" has 1–2 kiosks: spritz 5 €, panini 8 €, pasta 12 €.

Sella del Diavolo hike

2-hour return loop from Marina Piccola, 130 m elevation. Easy-medium, free, panoramic over Poetto, Gulf of Angels and Molentargius lagoon. Best at sunset (west-facing).

Molentargius flamingos

Behind Poetto: pink salt lagoon home to 4.000+ flamingos year-round. Free entry, bike rentals 5 €/h at the visitor centre. Best 9:00–11:00.

How to get there

Bus PF or PQ from Cagliari centre (1.30 €, 20 min, every 15 min). Free parking along Lungomare Poetto (busy from 11:00). By car 15 min from city centre.
