Porto Giunco is the signature beach of Villasimius: pale sand with a pink tint, shallow turquoise water and the Notteri lagoon behind it, often with flamingos.
Where to go
Use the main car parks behind the lagoon and walk through the sand path. The southern end is quieter; the central area has loungers and beach bars.
Tower viewpoint
A 20-minute walk climbs to the Spanish tower above the bay. From there you see both the lagoon and the open sea — the classic Porto Giunco photo.
Best time
June and September are ideal. In August, arrive before 09:30. Bring snorkel gear for the rocky edges near the tower.
