Santorini Caldera Boat Tour 2027: Volcano, Hot Springs & Thirassia
The Santorini caldera boat tour — the island's most popular day excursion. Sail across the volcanic caldera with stops at the active volcano (Nea Kameni), sulphur hot springs, Thirassia village, ending at Ammoudi Bay for the Oia sunset.
The route
Departs Old Port Fira or Athinios. Stop 1 — Nea Kameni: 30 min hike to the active crater (still smoking), 5 € island entry. Stop 2 — Palea Kameni hot springs: swim 30 min in 33 °C sulphur water (stains swimsuits — wear old). Stop 3 — Thirassia: 2 h on the quiet sister island, lunch at Perivolas (fish 25 €). Stop 4 — Oia sunset: boat anchors below caldera, watch sunset, then ferry returns to Ammoudi.
Prices 2027
Group caicco (max 50): 45 €/pax, 9:00–19:00. Group with sunset return: 55 €. Private catamaran (max 10): 1.500 €/half-day, 2.500 €/full-day with dinner. Sunset-only 4 h cruise: 120 €/pax with BBQ and open bar.
What to bring
Swimsuit (old, sulphur stains), towel, water shoes (volcano rocky), hat, sunscreen 50, 2 L water. Camera. Light jacket for sunset.

Book online 1 week ahead (sells out Jun–Sep). Sunset cruise the best value. Avoid the cheapest tours — they cut hot springs time. Private catamaran best for couples / families. Combine with next-day Akrotiri archaeological site.
