Departures from Porto San Paolo (10:00 daily): 30 min crossing, includes 3-4 swim stops at Spalmatore di Terra and Cala Tramontana. 35-50 €/adult, returns 17:00.
The kingdom
The Bertoleoni family has ruled Tavolara since 1836 — Queen Victoria recognized the title. Visit their small museum and grave site behind Spalmatore beach.
Hiking
The full Tavolara ridge hike is restricted (military zone on the eastern half). Free trail to Spalmatore di Fuori beach (1 h round-trip, easy).
