Via Camerelle — Capri's most exclusive shopping street, a 300 m pedestrian stretch lined with global luxury flagships and the island's iconic hand-made sandal workshops. Starts behind the Piazzetta, ends at the Quisisana hotel.

The luxury maisons

Hermès, Chanel, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Dior, Gucci, Cartier, Bulgari, Valentino — all present, all open May–October only. Capri stores often stock summer-only resort capsules unavailable elsewhere.

Capri sandals — the real local craft

Made-to-measure leather sandals (200–400 €), fitted in 15 minutes, ready in 2 hours. Canfora (Via Camerelle 3, since 1946 — made sandals for Jackie Kennedy in 1960, framed photo on the wall). Da Costanzo (Via Roma 49, smaller, since 1959). L'Arte del Sandalo Caprese di Antonio Viva (Via Lo Palazzo 13, Anacapri, since 1948).

Capri perfumes

Carthusia (Via Camerelle 10, since 1380, by Carthusian monks). Signature "Mediterraneo" 50 ml 75 €, "Fiori di Capri" 100 ml 130 €. Free visit to Anacapri laboratory.

After-shopping aperitif

Quisi Bar at Grand Hotel Quisisana (end of Via Camerelle) — terrace, Negroni 22 €. Al Piccolo Bar (Piazzetta) — café 4 €, granita di limone 8 €. Tiberio (Piazzetta) — light dinner with view 60 €/pax.

Tip

Shop morning (10:00–12:00) — afternoons jam-packed with day-trippers. Bring cash + AmEx — small ateliers sometimes refuse Visa.
