Le Rocher (Monaco-Ville) — middeleeuwse oude stad van Monaco op een 60 m hoge klif, met Prinselijk Paleis, kathedraal en Oceanografisch Museum. Het oorspronkelijke Monaco, vóór Monte-Carlo.

Wisseling van de wacht

Dagelijks 11:55 voor het Paleis (Place du Palais). Gratis, 5 min, zeer populair — kom voor 11:30. Carabiniers in wit (zomer) of zwart (winter).

Prinselijk Paleis

Staatsvertrekken open apr–okt, 10:00–18:00 (laatste 17:00). 10 € volw, 5 € kind. Troonzaal, Mazarin-zaal, erehof. Audiogids inbegrepen.

Oceanografisch Museum

Opgericht 1910 door prins Albert I, geleid door Cousteau (1957–88). 19 € volw, 12 € kind. Haaienlagune, Middellandse-aquarium, terras met uitzicht. Reken op 2u.

Wandelroute

Parking des Pêcheurs (3 €/u). Lift naar oude stad. Kathedraal (graf Grace Kelly) → Saint-Martin-tuinen (zeezicht) → Museum → Paleisplein (wisseling) → Rue Basse voor restaurants. 2–3u.

Castelroc — Monegaskische keuken sinds 1956, 40 €/pp. U Cavagnëtu — barbagiuan en traditioneel, 35 €. Le Pinocchio — Italiaans, 45 €. Mijd hoofdplein (toeristenval).

Tips

Auto's verboden (bewoners en nood). Te voet/bus 1 vanaf haven. Saint-Martin-tuinen gratis — beste foto van Middellandse Zee. Combineer met Casinoplein in middag (5 min).

Verblijf in villa in Cap-d'Ail/Roquebrune en arriveer bij Port Hercule per jacht.
